A  large circular mosaic panel, which is installed in the Pizza Express restaurant in Wimbledon Village. With the restaurant’s close proximity to Wimbledon Common, where the legendary children’s book and television characters ‘The Wombles’ lived, the chosen theme for their new artworks was re-cycling – “making good use of the things that people throw away”. Sue used old tiles, broken crockery and some bottle tops as well as some of her tiny hand made tiles. The letters are made from the restaurant’s old blue floor tiles, which were taken up prior to refurbishment. They were very hard and really difficult to cut by hand but the end result was worth it!
